SPACE BASE DELTA 1 - Same mission, new name

CH-47 Chinook lands at CMSFS

A CH-47 Chinook assigned to Fort Carson’s 4th Infantry Division did a site survey test landing at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station Nov. 5, 2021. The 21st Logistic Readiness Squadron and the 21st Security Forces Squadron coordinated the first CH-47 helicopter landing which signified full certification of the helipad to support all helicopters

CMSFS updates base sign to reflect Space Force

Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Colorado, updated the base entry sign to reflect its name in honor of the new military branch, the U.S. Space Force on Oct. 16, 2021. Cheyenne Mountain SFS changed its name earlier this year, July 26, 2021, along with Peterson and Schriever Space Force Bases. Colorado has the largest contingent of bases named
