21st MDS educates with National Children’s Dental Health Month

Parents often wonder why taking care of baby teeth are important since they will quickly fall out. However, habits and attitudes are formed at a young age. Placing an emphasis on your child’s dental health now can be a critical step towards them maintaining a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. Also, baby teeth are important space holders for permanent teeth. Losing them prematurely due to cavities can create the need for orthodontic intervention in the future.

Wingman, Leader, Warrior: Spc. 4 James Brown

Having served in both the U.S. Air Force and Space Force for a total of three years, U.S. Space Force Spc. 4 James Brown, 50th Communications Squadron client systems technician, has been stationed at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, since September 2021, with the duty of activating and troubleshooting government issued mobile phones to ensure effective, efficient communication across the USSF.

Defender takes big STEP with promotion

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Stephanie Stewart, 50th Security Forces Squadron flight sergeant, earned a promotion through the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program, just before the holiday season, elevating her from staff sergeant to technical sergeant. The STEP program allows the major command, unit commanders and senior officers to select a limited number of Airmen or Guardians with exceptional potential for promotion.

Learning to lead

Members from Space Delta 8 – Satellite Communications and Navigational Warfare, 4th Space Operations Squadron, have been breaking barriers in a new space training initiative at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. The new training was critical to the success of operations and protection of the wideband and protected Military Satellite Communication system. The squadron experienced an 80% turnover of their cyber personnel this past year. This occurred as the U.S. Space Force focused on moving Guardians to new units, as well as moving Airmen back to U.S. Air force units.
