U.S. Space Force Col. Heidi Dexter, 21st Communications Squadron commander, gives a keynote speech about the unique challenges and attitudes she has faced as a woman in the military, opening the Peterson-Schriever Garrison Women's Leadership Symposium including International Transgender Visibility Day on March 31, 2022, at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. Over the course of the event, which marked the end of Women’s History month, attendants took part in a variety of panel discussions and workshops set to provide healing and promote hope. Subjects discussed included childcare, maternal and paternal leave, dealing with conflict and leadership, and the unique challenges faced by transgender people in military jobs.
