    Walking a mile in each other's shoes

    A lot of people who live and work on Peterson Air Force Base have probably wondered what happens at the 4th Space Control Squadron - the “big fenced in building” out past the commissary. If you know or have talked to any of the members of the squadron, they most likely didn’t tell you much about what they do. Well, all of that is changing. We are going to take a deep look into the heart of our squadron, and you may be surprised by what you learn.

    It doesn’t seem fair that I’m the one writing this. On May 12th our wing, and the Air Force at large, lost a great leader, mentor, and friend. Colonel Falzarano’s impeccable service as your commander over the last year speaks for itself, and if he were here I have little doubt that his words would fill us all with the closure we need: for not only these trying times during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but for the decommissioning of the 21st Space Wing, and for the immense loss we continue to feel at the mention of his name. With that said, as Melissa and I begin our transition out of the Air Force, allow me one final chance to offer a few thoughts of my own, and to thank you all again for your never ending excellence and commitment to the mission.

  • Just another day for CMFES amidst a global pandemic

    Firefighters at CMAFS continue to protect and defend CMAFS and local communities during pandemic.
  • The concealed carry of privately owned firearms on Peterson AFB, unless authority has been granted by the 21st SW commander, is prohibited. This applies even if one is otherwise authorized to carry concealed in other jurisdictions. Additionally, the possession of privately owned firearms and ammunition in work centers, common areas, dormitory living quarters or temporary lodging facilities is prohibited. Temporary lodging facilities include visiting airman and officer quarters, temporary lodging facilities and billeting. (stock image)

    21st SFS reminds Team Pete of local firearms rules

    It is imperative everyone understands the rules and regulations for the transport, storage and carrying of privately owned firearms on the installation. Though federal and state laws may authorize many freedoms in regard to firearms, the possession and transport of firearms on Peterson Air Force Base is strictly limited and enforced by the commander of the 21st Space Wing.

    21st SFS mourns the loss of a four-legged Airman

    Military Working Dog Rexo, a 7-year-old German Shepherd, assigned to the 21st Security Forces Squadron, passed away on May 4, 2020.
