CAP cadets, families evacuate to PAFB

Civil Air Patrol cadets from the U.S. Air Force Academy and some military families have evacuated to Peterson Air Force Base.

The base fitness center is closed until further notice to support evacuees.

Families of CAP cadets and Airmen from the Academy can call (719) 554-4752 for information.

Information will be updated via the Peterson AFB website, www.peterson.af.mil, the Peterson AFB Facebook and Twitter pages and on the base's Straight Talk phone line, (719) 556-9154.

Military families in need of a place to evacuate to can call the 21st Space Wing Crisis Action Team at (719) 556-4210.

Families who would host those who've been displaced can call the 21st Space Wing Emergency Operations Center at (719) 556-3771 to volunteer.
