Brig. Gen. Charles E. McGee, a Tuskegee Airman and Air Force legend, passed away at his residence in Bethesda, Md., Jan. 16, 2022. He was 102 years old.

Airman Leadership Qualities will be integrated into feedback effective March 31, 2022
Effective March 31, 2022, the 10 Airman Leadership Qualities will be integrated into feedback for all Airmen, enlisted and officer, across all ranks. The ALQs will also form the basis for the new officer and enlisted evaluation systems projected for release later in 2022.

After announcing the components in July, over 9,000 data points were collected to determine the point values for each component by assessing approximately 2,000 Airmen from 23 installations.

Kendall stresses necessity of culture, language skills for building partner alliances in strategic competition
“I want to emphasize the important role language training and cultural understanding play in today’s global operations,” Kendall said in his keynote address. “Language is a warfighting capability. Our language-enabled Airmen and Guardians operate in foreign countries around the world, and their ability to communicate in a foreign language and understand cultural nuances are critical to their success.”

Airmen hone expeditionary skills at Rally in Rockies exercise
Active duty, Air National Guard and Reserve Airmen gathered in Colorado and Wyoming for 22nd Air Force’s flagship exercise Rally in the Rockies Sept. 12-17. The exercise is designed to develop Airmen for combat operations by challenging them with realistic scenarios that support a full spectrum of operations during military actions, operations or in hostile environments.

DAF announces mandatory COVID vaccine implementation guidelines for Airmen, Guardians
